Yawn.... wish I can sleep a little bit longer....Today's lunch bento inspired by Hello Kitty Figurine above. I just follow the design but forgot to add Kitty-chan whiskers =_=" How could I missed that??? Oh well, still look like Hello Kitty right? Here is the closer look of my Hello Kitty made from crabstick. I use Hello Kitty cookie cutter to cut out the face. Freehand penknife cut out the body/dress. For legs, I use straw to cut out. Nose made from egg sheet (you can use cheese as well) Instead of add the nose on top, I cut a hole using cutter then fill up with egg sheet nose. Freehand scissor cut out nori eyelashes then lastly add red food gel for cheeks. Underneath the pea sprout is rice.Side dishes at another container fill with gyoza, shredded carrots, egg sheet (star shapes) and balance crabstick (white) as flower. After photo takings, I'll remove the Hello Kitty figurine ^_^Sigh....I can't get enough light for photo takings indoor (dry kitchen) early morning =_=" Anyway, hope today's Hello Kitty theme bento will brighten up your Monday Blues.....

Recently bought some wool felt tools set to made few kawaii characters. The first needle felting character I made was Totoro. Followed along Makkuro Kurosuke, I did made Totoro Chibi White but not yet add the eyes so can't be display together with today's bento ^_^ Here's the cute Totoro Needle Felting ^_^ My first attempt and I learned it from Youtube by Bubzbeauty. Click her name to view. After I get the hang of it, I just start to create the rest of the characters. Just need to be careful while poking....heheheTotoro made from black sesame mix with rice and shape them up using cling wrap. This time I just add the eyes food picks from AllThingsForSale or BentoUSA. So easy that I don't have to make the eyes ^_^ Totoro Chibi White made from quail egg, freehand scissor cut out nori for eyes and I missed adding the legs =_=" Next, I add toasted spaghetti (to safe time, I toasted one night before and put in ziplock bag). Side dishes for today's lunch bento have spinach, prawns, button mushroom and meat patties coated with breadcrumbs.I hope you like today's Totoro Obento. Have a great Wednesday! As per request from my darling daughter that she wants a golden hair girl bento for her luncbox. Is always the opposite way that when you've black or dark hair tone would prefer the blonde hair. Or when you've straight hair would prefer natural curl. And my daughter loves her hair to be curly too ^_^ Sound funny but when I'm at her age also dream of it!! Hahaha.... Look at my golden hair girl bento. Do you like her eyes? How I wish my eyelashes were like so that I don't have to curl :D For the face, I mix little bit of ketchup with rice and shape into ball. Arrange to the bento box and cover up with cooked organic carrot ramen. To made the dress, I add inari on top of the rice and decorate with red polka dots (crabstick) using straw to cut. Freehand scissor cut out nori for the face features and punch out ribbons using puncher. For side dishes contain pea sprouts, quail egg, fishcake, chicken seaweed wrap, mini grapes and kiwi fruit.Hope this pretty golden hair girl will brighten up your Monday Blues....

Today's lunch bento will be less food and light lunch ^_^ Yesterday my daughter requested roti canai or roti prata for her lunch bento since every Tuesday will be rush hour during her lunch break. Last minute changes to use this Totoro Two-tier Lunchbox that I bought quite some times ago during my Japan trip :p I like this lunchbox but will be tricky to design cute character due to the limited space =_=" More over she wants roti canai not rice or noodles....Pan-fried the roti canai and I cut into few pieces to fit inside the lunchbox. To match the Totoro lunchbox, I transform the boiled quail egg (roll on palm for totoro shape) into Totoro. Wrap the quail egg with nori for black touch and add on the details. The eggs made from cheese/nori. Lastly, I add some lettuce & parsley. As for another shorter container, I pour some sugar into small container and put below of the mini grapes.I hope you like today's Totoro Lunchbox post. Happy Tuesday!

Last night did Hello Kitty needle felted character (only the head) to match my today's bento theme. I dressed up Hello Kitty as Totoro character ^_^ Nowadays my daughter requested not too much of dishes or a lot for her lunchbox. Most of her friends taking school meal sets and the school separated sitting area for homecooked students. So she prefers to quickly finished her foods then join with her friends :) I asked her whether she wants to take school meal sets instead of homecooked? I felt blessed to hear words from her that she still wants cute bento for her lunchbox in school. Wait for few more years I think can pack her normal bento (non kyaraben) same as my son bento. I actually still prefer let my kids bring homecooked food course the school meal set price was quite costly for a month. ![]()
Here's the close up Hello Kitty in Totoro costume ^_^ As usual, mix the rice with black sesame powder for Totoro and boiled egg (white) for body. The Hello Kitty nose made from eggsheet (used up my balance eggsheet). For side dishes contain ginger chicken stew, sauce at the small container and some sweet pea ^_^I hope you like my today's dressed up Hello Kitty.
